Welcome to this little website. It was developed as part of a workshop put together for the the South African Environemental Observatory Network’s (SAEON) Graduate Student Network. The aim of this website was to form the basis of the course and for the participants to refer back to once the workshop was completed. If you weren’t part of the course you are still more than welcome to browse through the content presented here.

This course did not aim to teach any statistics but rather aimed to expose the participants to R’s capabilities and encourage them to explore its features in a (hopefully) conducive environment.

Some of the content is my own, whilst other pieces have been adapted from other resources that I have found insightful. There are also many links to other resources to expose the reader to more thorough material should they wish to further understand a topic or concept. There are some datasets that you will need to download and import into R in order to run these analyses. You will see them presented in the text describing the dataset and the subsequent analyses. If you are having trouble downloading the files using the link (right-click and save as) then you can find all the files here. Just right-click on the desired file and save as.

If you would like to ask any questions about this content or are looking for further resources please feel free to email me at dstuart99@gmail.com. If there is anything that you have noticed is incorrect gramaticaly, statistically, or otherwise please also let me know. I acknowledge that I am by no means an expert in these topics, rather I am very passionate about what I have learnt and would like to share this with as many people as possible.
